Pancake power

Sorry for not being that active in the last time, but university is killing me... apart from that I've spent so much time in building up my NEW BLOG!!! All I can say right now is: it's getting huge :-P

I invited my girls for a delicious vegan breakfast the other day and also made some yummy vegan pancakes. I have to admit that although I loooove pancakes, I don't make them very often because I don't have enough time for it in the morning. However, I found this recipe on the internet and it turned out to be suuuper delicious and easy.

My Detox Journey

The word 'detox' is literally on everyone's lips. I read a lot of articles in newspapers or blogs etc. about this topic and like almost everything in life there are pros and cons. Some experts say that detoxifying your body is a total myth and scientifically unproven. However, due to the fact that there is a sort of hype about this topic, I was really excited when I had the chance to try a 3-day detox. Now I'm going to give you a quick overview of the company, what to eat before and after the detox and how I managed during those three days.

Simply salads

First of all, salads don't have to boring or tasteless. In fact I'm not a huge fan of salads, but with the right ingredients it can be a very delicious meal. I try to eat raw vegetables at least every second day or sometimes I manage to grab them every day. Why? Because uncooked and unprocessed vegetables contain the full amount of vitamins, mineral nutrients, fibers and so on. This is not the case if you e.g. cook them, because then some of them get lost at a certain temperature. However, if you want to lose weight or get your body in shape, I recommend eating salads for dinner as they are low in calorie and not that heavy.

Superbody Granola

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but for me breakfast always has to be rather sweet than savory. The "Superbody Granola" is one of my favourite meals in the morning, because I personally can't imagine eating bread or cheese in the morning, unless I'm on holiday. For those who don't know what granola is, I'm going to explain it shortly. It's basically a kind of crunchy nuts and seeds, mixed and baked in the oven. I often use it as a topping for my warm oatmeal - simply delicious! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)

The epitome of "creen"

Maybe not the most beautiful Tiramisu, but remember: The inner values count!
A tavola non s'invecchia. That's a good old Italian proverb, which means "At the table one doesn't grow old". According to this I want to introduce one of my favourite desserts of all time: the Tiramisu. Probably now you're like: "What? Why is a tiramisu that interesting? Doesn't she want to promote healthy and balanced nutrition?". Yes you're completely right :-) The thing is, it's not a 'normal' Italian tiramisu with a lot of mascarpone, sugar, rum and things like that. It's a 'creen' version of it. Creen is the composition of the two words clean and green. This wordmix just popped out in my mind and I think it's a really cool word describing the issue concisely. So I guess you can call me the inventor haha as I never heard it anywhere before with that kind of meaning*! So that's what all my recipes are, they are creen ;-) However, this recipe is raw, vegan and extremely delicious! I've made the experience that raw recipes are often very complicated and you'll stay in the kitchen for a looooong time, but not here. I got inspired by one of Ani Phyos cooking books, but as always I modified it a bit.

Prep your bags

Eating healthy while you're on the go can be a real challenge. When I think about the typical meals at the cafeteria of my university or factory canteens in general, I'm loosing my appetite. Most of the meals there (of course not in every cafeteria) are neither freshly cooked  nor tasty or healthy. However, this is no excuse for you, because there are options! I have made a habit out of my meal preperation and it works excellent. I always have some delicious food with me, which fits into my diet and satisfies me completely. Taking your own food with you can be a bit weird at the beginning, but after some time it becomes really normal and apart from that is has some good effects on your purse. This time I've made myself a tasty salad with 'Halloumi' cheese, vegetables, whole grain roll and a buttermilk smoothie with berries and banana and took it to my boyfriend's handball game. All recipe details are listed below.

Burgers 'n' Fries

Healthy fast food? Is this even possible? Hell yeah! Forget McDonalds, Burger King and Co, you can do it better!! Living a healthy lifestyle must not always mean to resign the 'really good stuff'. And let's be honest... there are not many people out there who don't like the taste of freshly baked fries. I've created my own clean version of this typical american dish and I can tell you it's way better than any other junk food from the typical fast food chains. On this picture there are only the patties, but you can easily buy some whole grain burger bread and make real burgers.

January favourites

The first month of 2015 is almost over and I hope you still stick to all of your New Year's resolutions ;-). As of now I want to make a new monthly rubric called "January (or the concerned month) FAVs. In this new category I want to give you a quick overview of the products I came upon that month and which made a lasting impression on me. As you can see on the pictures, my favourite January things are rather similar in their use and topic, either you can eat them or paint your face with them (best combination right?).

Healthy Snacking

We all know that feeling: It's afternoon and you feel a tiny bit hungry. Not hungry enough to make yourself a big sandwich or something like that, but you feel like you could have a little snack. That's the point. I've read so often that snacking is bad for you, affects your weightloss blabla...
That's a myth. Having a little snack once in while is not bad at all! But you have to snack the right stuff! Unfortunately a whole pack of potato chips does not count as 'a right snack'...

Here are my Top 5 foods, which are a delicious, healthy snack and support you with important nutrients:

Quick and easy

I just wanted to make a very short post about my favourite recipe when I don't have that much time for creating anything special in the kitchen...
This is also appropriate if you are on a tiny budget and cannot afford any "extraordinary" food.
