My everyday breakfast

A few days ago I shared with you my favourite pancake recipe... I know that the most of us are very busy especially during the week and don't have the time to prepare and cook that kind of breakfast in the morning.

So I want to show you what I really love to eat on weekdays - it is quick & easy, extremely delicious, and packed with important nutrients!

Chia Pudding with Berries & Bananas

What do you need?
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Chia seeds
  • rolled oats (I really don't know the exact amount - just put in how much you like)
  • non-dairy milk (I used my selfmade nutmilk.. but you can use every type you like)
  • honey (if you want sweetness)
  • cashews
  • almonds or other nuts for the topping
  • coconut flakes
  • cacao nibs
  • cinnamon, vanilla
  • berries, bananas
  • handblender ('Stabmixer', 'PĆ¼rierstab')

What do you do with these ingredients?

  1. put your chia seeds, oats and sweetener in a bowl and fill it up with your milk and let it soak for about 10-15 minutes
  2. in the meantime prepare your fruits
  3. after the 10-15 minutes put the cashews (about a hand full) into the bowl with the chia seeds, oats & milk and mix it with the handblender. If your pudding is too thick or too liquid just put in more milk to make it more liquid or cashews for thickness.
  4. now top your pudding with whatever you like and enjoy :)

-> A general rule for cooking: Please do not stick on every amount or ingredient which is used in a recipe. For example if you don't like or simply don't have coconut or cinnamon then just leave it aside. In my opinion cooking is more than just following some steps. For that reason I cannot give you the exact amounts for this recipe, because I decide after taste & feeling and I don't even know them because I created this recipe by myself :P.

For your theoretical background: What the hell are Chia seeds?

Chia Seeds are small black (or grey) seeds which originally come from Mexico and have been a kind of 'miracle cure' discovered by the Aztecs.
All you need to know is: They are extremely high in unsaturated Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, rich in fibres and include a lot of protein, vitamins and minerals. Because of their amazing health benefits they are called "Superfoods" and are consumed by athletes as well as soldiers of the army. The daily intake of 15g shall not be exceeded. Used with water or milk they will get a jellylike texture and are therefore perfect for our pudding ;)

So grab your handmixer and prepare your healthy & yummy breakfast... but be aware of boyfriends... be prepared to share with them ;)

Have a lovely weekend!
